gallery-app software package provides Photo gallery for Ubuntu, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gallery-app
gallery-app is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gallery-app package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gallery-app *
You will get with gallery-app package name, version, architecture and description in a table
